Prospective County Boundaries

There are a number of options for how the county boundaries could be drawn, and a number of issue to be considered in each case, primary of which is how the citizens feel.  Below are four strawman options that could be considered.  At our upcoming meetings, we'd like to hear what YOU think.

  • Option A -- This option would effectively create the new county from all areas outside the city limits of Seattle, leaving a combined city and county of Seattle/King County.
  • Option B -- This plan would include all areas east of Lake Washington, but would use I-5 as  in the south end, and the western edge of Kenmore in the northern ends as county boundaries.
  • Option C -- This  resembles the proposed boundaries of Cedar County, including all areas in the Rural Growth area and the incorporated areas, but includes Sammamish and Issaquah.
  • Option D -- Similar to option C, including all areas in the Rural Growth area and the incorporated areas, but excluding Sammamish and Issaquah.
